National Recovery Cylinders

Refrigerant recovery cylinders are an important part of the engineer’s tool kit.

Used for the safe recovery, storage and transport of waste refrigerants which can then be returned for environmentally friendly disposal conforming to current F-Gas legislation.

When a recovery cylinder has been used it must be transported with a completed environmental waste transfer note indicating what refrigerant was removed, when & where it was removed from, how much was removed and by whom. This is a legal document and these must never be transported without the accompanying documents.

Cylinders should only be used for one gas type and should not be mixed.

There are 2 recovery cylinder types, standard HFC/HCFC Class A1 non flammable and HFO/Hydrocarbon A3/A2L flammable refrigerants.

A3/A2L recovery cylinders must be used for flammable refrigerants, it is illegal to transport A3/A2L refrigerants in standard recovery cylinders.

Standard HFC Recovery

Recovery cylinders are available in 3 sizes

Available Cylinder Sizes Water Capacity  Approx. KG
Small 12 Litre  9 – 13
Medium  26 Litre  20 – 25
Large 61 Litre  46 – 57

Cylinders are measured by water capacity but refrigerant capacity is dependent on the particular refrigerant density.

Indication guidance is found on the cylinder shroud.
