National at Automechanica

by NRL / Tuesday, 17 September 2019 / Published in Marketing
Refrigeration and air-conditioning R1234yf

For the 3rd year running, National Refrigerants Ltd have exhibited at the UK trade show Automechanika 2019 held at the Birmingham NEC. This year’s show saw over 500 exhibitors from over 23 countries and more than 12,000 visitors, a record attendance.

Simon Ravenscroft, Regional Sales Manager at National, was delighted with the show “As Europe’s award-winning Honeywell R1234yf distributor of the year 2018, National have worked hard with the automotive OEM and Aftermarket sector this year, it was impossible not to exhibit again and to meet most of our customers and potential customers in one place, we were able to thank them and to discuss potential opportunities and challenges
for the future.”

This year will see another 1.2 million new cars hit the road with the new Honeywell Solstice R1234yf air-conditioning gas in them. New legislation introduced in January 2017 forced all car makers in Europe to adopt new technology to reduce the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of the refrigerant used in the aircon system. This change means that all new cars must run on technology containing refrigerant with a GWP of less than 150 in order to comply – by comparison, the refrigerant previously used was R-134a which has a GWP of 1,430.

National Refrigerants Ltd is a dynamic and very well-respected UK company, established in 1983 to supply Europe and the Rest of the World with refrigerants and associated products and services.

We are one of Europe’s largest independent suppliers of refrigerants worldwide servicing over 40 countries and part of a large family of companies based in the USA, encompassing all aspects of the refrigeration industry.
